This project is for a new specialist seafood restaurant in the town of Menai Bridge on the island of Anglesey.

The concept for the building takes inspiration from the maritime setting and the current and former uses of the site. Formerly a timber yard then a boat storage facility the influence of these factors have resulted in a building that takes the form of a simple, timber clad ‘boathouse’ with a clean, industrial look that responds well to the character of the Conservation Area.

The layout of the building is generated from creating clear separation with the existing use and maximising views over the water. The restaurant entrance is into a glazed ‘link’ between the existing building and the new whilst the dining area is situated over two floors, both with external terraces facing the north and east to take advantage of the waterside aspect.
